Last entry I described the perks of receiving PokerStars rakeback when you play online. Now I would like to mention some popular live events sponsored by PokerStars. Every year a huge number of live tournament series are sponsored by PokerStars, and if you can’t afford to pay the entry fees, there is always a way to get in cheap via online satellites.

European Poker Tour London just finished up. If you are a member of PokerStars Elite, you could have chosen to play in the Main Event due to your PokerStars rakeback perks. The events took place between September 29th and October 4th, and the series participation was excellent. The Main Event required a £5,250 buy-in, and the total prize pool ended up being £4,112,800 with 848 registered players. To be a PokerStars player in one of these events, you must satellite in using your PokerStars download or you must be sponsored by the site. Artur Wasek was the top finishing PokerStars player, busting 4th and receiving £240,000.

The Belgian Open Poker Championship is taking place now, between October 9th and October 17th. The Main Event Day 1 is split into 4 days, and you can play different tournaments on the other three days. There are six total events scheduled. If you are American and play on US poker sites, you can participate in the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City. The Main Event is $5,250, and if you find this a bit much, there are plenty of online satellites. The other option is to just stick to the smaller buy-ins between $300 and $600. If you want to play the Ladies Event, the buy-in is $265+$35.
